Perry Warjiyo, Deputy Governor

perry_w.jpgPerry Warjiyo currently serves as Deputy Governor, Bank Indonesia. Previously, Perry Warjiyo served as Assistant Governor for the formulation of monetary, macroprudential and international policies at Bank Indonesia, his position after being Executive Director of the Department of Economic Research and Monetary Policy, Bank Indonesia since 2009.

Prior to his return to Bank Indonesia since 2009, Perry Warjiyo held a two-year position as Executive Director of the International Monetary Fund, representing 13 member countries of the South-East Asia Voting Group . Perry Warjiyo has had a long and brilliant career at Bank Indonesia since 1984, especially in the areas of economic research and monetary policy, international issues, organizational transformation and monetary policy strategy, education and central bank research, foreign exchange and foreign debt management, as well as become the Head of Governor’s Bureau.

Perry also worked as post-graduate lecturer in the University of Indonesia in monetary economics and international economic finance, as well as a guest lecturer in several universities in Indonesia. He obtained his Master's and PhD degree in Monetary and International Finance from Iowa State University, United States, subsequently in 1989 and 1991. Perry had written and published several books, journal articles, and paper in economic, monetary, and international issues.

Perry Warjiyo was appointed as Deputy Governor based on the Presidential Decree Number 28/P of 2013 and officially started his term since April 15th of 2013 for the 2013–2018 period.
