The latest Business Survey conducted by Bank Indonesia indicates maintained business activity in the fourth quarter of 2025. This was reflected by Weighted Net Balance (WNB) of 10.61%. Most sectors recorded a positive WNB, particularly Financial Services, followed by Wholesale and Retail Trade, and Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles; the Manufacturing Industry; Public Administration, Defence and Compulsory Social Security; Information and Communication; as well as Accommodation and Food Service Activities. This was consistent with the seasonal increase in activity during the Christmas and New Year festive period, which stoked domestic demand.

Production capacity utilisation in the fourth quarter of 2025 was maintained at a level of 73.15%. This was supported by several economic sectors, namely Electricity Supply as well as Water Supply, Sewerage, Waste Management and Remediation Activities. Meanwhile, corporate financial conditions generally remained sound in terms of liquidity and profitability, accompanied by looser access to credit.

Respondents predict business activity to accelerate in the first quarter of 2026, with a WNB of 12.93%. This will primarily be supported by increasing business activity in the Agricultural, Forestry and Fishing sector due to the onset of the harvesting season, as well as the Manufacturing Industry; Transportation and Storage; Wholesale and Retail Trade, and Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles in response to a seasonal spike in demand during Ramadan and Eid-ul-Fitr 1447 H.
