The rapid development of technology and information systems has precipitated an evolution in terms of payment systems and rupiah currency management (SPPUR), leading to various innovations regarding payment instruments, payment mechanisms and payment system infrastructure.Consequently, standardised competencies in the payment system and rupiah currency management (SPPUR) are required to offset such rapid development. This will support the creation of an uninterrupted, secure, efficient and reliable payment system that is protected from fraudulent endeavours throughout the Republic of Indonesia, accompanied by rupiah currency management that meets public demand for currency of appropriate denominations on time and fit for circulation. Therefore, the payment system and rupiah currency management can contribute to the national economy through expanded access and consumer protection in the national interest.Striving to create competent human resources in terms of the payment system and rupiah currency management, Bank Indonesia issued Bank Indonesia Regulation (PBI) No. 21/16/PBI/2019 concerning Standardisation of HR Competencies in the Payment System and Rupiah Currency Management as well as Board of Governors Regulation (PADG) No. 22/3/PADG/2020 concerning Standardisation of HR Competencies in the Payment System and Rupiah Currency Management.
