The 13th Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) 2026 recorded positive achievements in strengthening the halal industry and expanding business opportunities and sharia financing. Held on 14–18 October 2026, ISEF recorded sales of halal food and fashion products amounting to Rp13.85 billion, alongside business matching transactions in sharia financing and trade totaling Rp3.16 trillion, comprising Rp2.6 trillion in sharia financing and Rp558.4 billion in sharia trade. In addition, commitments for cooperation in the sharia money and foreign exchange markets reached Rp6.05 trillion. These achievements underscore ISEF's role as a collaborative platform to broaden the benefits of the Islamic economy for the public and strengthen its contribution to inclusive and sustainable national economic growth.
“These achievements reflect the economic activities generated through ISEF. Moving forward, the priority is to ensure that these achievements translate into tangible benefits for the economy and public welfare," said Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Solikin M. Juhro at the closing of the 13th ISEF at the Jakarta International Convention Center (JICC), Jakarta, on 18 October. Solikin emphasized that the development of the Islamic economy should be directed towards enhancing inclusive welfare. Economic growth should not be measured solely by increased economic activity, but also by the broader opportunities for people to participate in and benefit from that growth. Accordingly, sharia financing needs to be linked to productive activities, while Islamic social finance should be directed towards supporting sustainable community empowerment.
The achievements of ISEF 2026 were also supported by strong public participation and collaboration among stakeholders. The festival welcomed approximately 93,000 visitors, while its reach across mass media and social media reached 26.5 million people. The event also involved more than 1,000 halal industry players, ranging from micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Islamic financial institutions, and creative industries to domestic and international investors. This broad participation expanded opportunities for collaboration while opening up business, financing, and trade opportunities for Islamic economy players.
Under the theme “Accelerating Sustainable Islamic Economic and Financial Growth through Synergy and Digital Transformation," ISEF 2026 featured more than 100 onsite and online activities designed to strengthen the Islamic economic ecosystem from upstream to downstream. The activities encompassed strengthening the halal industry ecosystem, developing ideas and leadership in the Islamic economy, expanding business and financing opportunities, and empowering women and younger generations through education, entrepreneurship, and innovation. The ISEF 2026 programme also strengthened collective efforts to advance Islamic economics and finance in Indonesia.
In line with these efforts, Solikin highlighted three key pillars for strengthening the development of Islamic economics and finance: integrating the halal value chain from upstream to downstream; expanding sharia financing through innovation and the integration of Islamic commercial and social finance; and enhancing literacy and inclusion, supported by digital transformation. In closing, Solikin called on all stakeholders to build on ISEF as a stepping stone towards expanding the contribution of Islamic economics and finance to the national economy. The various initiatives and collaborations established through ISEF 2026 are expected to continue growing and deliver tangible benefits to the public. “Our future success will be determined not merely by the number of programmes implemented, but by the tangible changes we bring about for businesses and public welfare," Solikin emphasized.
The closing of ISEF 2026 also marked the announcement of winners of various competitions, including the Indonesia International Halal Chef Competition (IN2HCC), the Creative Islamic Economy Animation Video Competition (VITRAH), the National Islamic Economics Olympiad (OESN), and the Youth Shariapreneur Innovation Competition (YSIC). These competitions formed part of ISEF 2026's efforts to encourage creativity, innovation, and public participation in the development of the Islamic economy. On the same occasion, the recipients of the 2026 ISEF Awards were announced in recognition of institutions and individuals contributing to the development of Indonesia's Islamic economy, alongside the finalists of the Indonesia Digital Innovation Center (PIDI) – DIGDAYA x Hackathon 2026.
ISEF 2026 was organised through the collaboration of Bank Indonesia and the National Committee for Islamic Economy and Finance (KNEKS), with support from ministries and government agencies, halal industry associations, Islamic financial institutions, universities, creative communities, and international partners. This cross-sector collaboration further strengthened ISEF's role as a global platform that connects business players, expands collaboration opportunities, and enhances public literacy and understanding of Islamic economics and finance.
Through sustained synergy, the initiatives and collaborations established during ISEF 2026 are expected to evolve into productive economic activities, expand business opportunities, and improve public welfare. Guided by the spirit of “Goodness for All," all stakeholders are encouraged to continue working together to extend the benefits of Islamic economics and finance to all segments of society.
