No. 26/230/DKom
The latest Banking Survey conducted by Bank Indonesia in the third quarter of 2024 indicates positive growth of new loan disbursements, as reflected by a Weighted Net Balance (WNB) of 80.6%. Faster growth of new loan disbursements was driven by consumer loans, specifically housing loans. Meanwhile, respondents predict new loan disbursements to accelerate in the fourth quarter of 2024, with the WNB increasing to 88.3%.
Respondents expect slightly tighter lending standards in the fourth quarter of 2024 compared with conditions in the previous period, as indicated by a positive Lending Standards Index (LSI) of 2.2%, with most aspects affected, particularly document requirements. In contrast, interest rates, administration fees, and loan maturity expected to remain looser.
The latest Survey also reveals how respondents remain optimistic on credit growth moving forward until the end of the year, with outstanding loans projected to maintain growth momentum. Respondents are upbeat, among others, due to the monetary and economic outlook as well as relatively mitigated credit risk when disbursing loans.
