The Governor of Bank Indonesia, Destry Damayanti, inaugurated Mal Isnaini S. Meyyanti, who previously served as Head of the Strategic Management and Governance Department, as Head of the Macroprudential Policy Department on 15th September 2026 in Jakarta. The inauguration forms part of the organisational strengthening efforts to ensure continuity in the fulfilment of Bank Indonesia's duties in maintaining stability, while contributing to sustainable economic growth.
In her remarks, Destry emphasised that Bank Indonesia's broader mandate must be accompanied by stronger institutional accountability, governance and leadership. To fulfil this mandate, Bank Indonesia and its strategic partners must further strengthen their synergy to work together and complement one another within their respective roles and authorities.
The BI Governor also stated that the implementation of Bank Indonesia's duties should be guided by three principles: delivering tangible impact, ensuring inclusivity and promoting integration through synergy with all stakeholders. To that end, Bank Indonesia's leaders are expected to demonstrate inclusive leadership, remain open to diverse perspectives and provide opportunities for all members of the organisation to contribute. Strengthening the institution, leadership and synergy provides an important foundation for Bank Indonesia in fulfilling its mandate and supporting national economic growth.
