As a central bank, one of Bank Indonesia’s mandates is to regulate and maintain orderly Payment Systems and Rupiah Currency Management (PS RCM). This has strong linkages with the effectiveness of other core tasks at Bank Indonesia in terms of monetary and macroprudential policies. Therefore, Bank Indonesia operates the Bank Indonesia Payment System that serves retail transactions in Indonesia’s banking industry and provides Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs) that are critical to economic activity in the country. read more..
