Karya Kreatif Indonesia 2026: Indonesian MSMEs More Empowered, More Global

Press Releases

No. 28/172/DKom

Once again, Karya Kreatif Indonesia (KKI) has recorded strong achievements. The event, which is part of a collaborative effort to strengthen Indonesian MSMEs, recorded provisional sales of Rp144.2 billion as of 22nd August 2026, up 46% from the previous year's event. Export business matching (BM) reached Rp169.9 billion, involving 192 MSMEs and buyers from 16 countries, while financing BM totalled Rp285 billion, increasing by 30.3% compared with the average over the past three years. Such achievements indicate broader MSME access to markets, financing and business networks, both domestically and internationally.

KKI 2026 strengthens the impact-oriented MSME development. This was pursued through collaboration, stronger end-to-end ecosystems, local brand innovation by the younger generation as well as the application of sustainability principles. KKI serves not only as a platform for promotion and transactions but also as part of the MSME development ecosystem to strengthen capacity and innovation, expand access to markets and financing, and help MSMEs level up.

“Each year, with a profound sense of gratitude, we organise KKI to continue growing Indonesian MSMEs, while becoming more resilient and competitive. However, MSMEs need an ecosystem that serves as a sustainable destination to ensure that Indonesian MSMEs can continue to grow, become resilient and competitive," stated the Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Aida S. Budiman, during the KKI 2026 Closing Ceremony at JICC Jakarta on 23rd August.

KKI's strength is also reflected in the extensive collaboration built. KKI 2026 involved more than 1,860 MSMEs from across the Indonesian archipelago, with nearly 560 MSMEs participating offline and showcasing a diverse range of curated products, including traditional textiles, ready-to-wear clothing, food and beverages, home décor, as well as creative works by the younger generation. KKI 2026 was also supported by 27 government ministries/agencies and 34 associations, partners, industry players, banks, academics and other stakeholders. MSME development, curation and the expansion of market access were supported by a network of 46 Bank Indonesia Domestic Representative Offices and five International Representative Offices. Such synergy ensures a strong foundation for building an increasingly connected and competitive MSME ecosystem in Indonesia.

Strengthening regional talent and potential was also realised through the Cangkir Barista and Citra Nusa programs. Cangkir Barista is a coffee entrepreneurship development program that enhances competencies, provides national certification and offers business assistance to baristas. Meanwhile, Citra Nusa is a program to bolster the competitiveness of traditional textile MSMEs through capacity building, design innovation and export-oriented product development. This year, Cangkir Barista produced six top winners and four favourite winners,[1] while Citra Nusa produced five top winners and three favourite winners.[2] Both programs are part of the efforts to develop regional potential, promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth, as well as create job opportunities.

Bank Indonesia will continue encouraging MSMEs to grow, become resilient and competitive through business capacity building, broader access to markets and financing, innovation, digitalisation and the development of sustainable ecosystems. Synergy among MSMEs, the public, Government, industry, financial institutions, global buyers and strategic partners will continue to be strengthened to advance micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia.

“Love, pride and the use of Indonesian MSME products. If not us, then who? If not now, then when will Indonesian MSMEs become the backbone of Indonesian products, enjoy growth, become more resilient and competitive?" Deputy Governor Aida asked.

In line with the spirit of KKI 2026, Beudaya MeusareSare, Empowered Together, KKI represents a collective movement to bring the finest MSME products from across Indonesia to be increasingly recognised, appreciated and used by the Indonesian public, while also reaching global markets. This synergy and spirit will continue to be strengthened so that more Indonesian MSMEs can grow, become resilient and competitive, and serve as a source of strength for inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Indonesia.
