According to the latest Business Survey conducted by Bank Indonesia, business activity was maintained in the third quarter of 2024, as indicated by a Weighted Net Balance (WNB) of 14.40%. All economic sectors posted positive performance, particularly Mining and Quarrying, Construction, as well as Information and Communication given ongoing construction project activity and maintained demand.

Production capacity utilisation in the third quarter of 2024 was maintained at 73.13%, primarily supported by stronger performance recorded in several economic sectors, namely Mining and Quarrying as well as Electricity Supply, in line with increasing business activity. In general, corporate financial conditions remained sound in terms of liquidity and profitability, coupled with looser access to financing.

Respondents predict business activity to maintain positive growth in the fourth quarter of 2024, as indicated by a WNB of 13.42%. Respondents expect broad-based growth across most economic sectors, including Transportation and Storage as well as Accommodation and Food Service Activities as a corollary of increasing activity during the Christmas and New Year festive period.
