The latest Banking Survey conducted by Bank Indonesia shows the new loan disbursements increased in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the previous period. This was reflected by a Weighted Net Balance (WNB) of new loan disbursements of 93.08%, up from 38.74% in the previous quarter. New loan disbursements increased across all loan types, as reflected by higher WNB readings for working capital loans, investment loans and consumer loans. In the third quarter of 2026, respondents expect new loan disbursements to maintain growth, with a WNB of 84.65%.

Respondents confirmed tighter, or more prudent, lending standards in the second quarter of 2026 compared with the first quarter of 2026, as reflected by a positive Lending Standards Index (LSI) of 1.03, particularly in terms of lending rates, credit lines, loan covenants, loan maturities and administration fees. In the third quarter of 2026, respondents anticipate looser lending standards, as indicated by a negative LSI of 2.25.

Respondents expect outstanding loans to maintain growth through to the end of 2026, supported by a positive economic and monetary outlook as well as contained credit risk.
