Press Releases

JOINT PRESS RELEASE

No.24/239/DKom

51/SGS/IX/2022

Bank Indonesia has launched S.I.A.P QRIS (Sehat, Inovatif, Aman, Pakai QRIS or Healthy, Innovative, Secure, Use QRIS) and BI-FAST programs as a continuation of efforts to accelerate digital payments nationally, particularly in the Solo Raya region.  The event was held on 4th September 2022 in the grounds of the Surakarta City Hall, also serving as the opening ceremony for the ADIPATI (Akselerasi DIgitalisasi PembayAran TerkIni) Festival or accelerate payment digitalisation as a strategic annual pre-event of the Solo Great Sale (SGS). The event was attended by the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Mayor of Surakarta, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN Surakarta) as well as Solo Raya retailers represented by the Sami Luwes Group, Atria, As-Salam, Laris, Mitra 10, Asia Baru and Candi Electronic, along with various relevant stakeholders.

In his remarks, the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo, reiterated the importance of reviving economic growth through private consumption among upper-middle earners. The Solo Great Sale (SGS) is one way to realise this, which is expected to beat the transaction target of Rp1.3 trillion.  Furthermore, Governor Perry added that QRIS and BI-FAST process transactions quickly, with MSMEs thus receiving their money immediately for business purposes.  In addition, cross-border QRIS is already live with Thailand and will be expanded to other ASEAN countries moving forward.  Fast, convenient, affordable, secure and reliable (CEMUMUAH) QRIS transactions will increase private spending, with SGS thereby expected to exceed the success of last year's event.

S.I.A.P QRIS is a program to create healthy and innovative shopping malls and markets where QRIS is safe to use, thus supporting the national economic recovery.  The commitment of Solo Raya retailers for S.I.A.P QRIS pledged at the ADIPATI Festival represents a continuation of ongoing digitalisation efforts for the payment ecosystem via S.I.A.P QRIS at traditional markets, shopping malls and among MSMEs in Solo Raya.

The inauguration of S.I.A.P QRIS among Solo Raya retailers was enhanced by the release of the Porsebank sports week defile organised by the Regional Banking Deliberative Assembly (BMPD) in Solo Raya, comprising a contingent of 37 banks in the Solo Raya region with participants totalling 1,380. The defile promotes the theme of payment system digitalisation through QRIS and BI-FAST, as communicated through various attributes and attractions. The defile represents banking industry support for the realisation of public services that facilitate digital payments and for the success of SGS 2022.  Through QRIS and BI-FAST innovation, regional digitalisation can be accelerated through fast, convenient, affordable, secure and reliable cashless transactions available 24/7 to also improve transaction efficiency at SGS 2022.

SIAP QRIS retailers and the Porsebank defile are a series of pre-events leading up to SGS 2022, running from 25th September-30th October 2022.  With the support of 23,000 tenants from various sectors, including hotels, restaurants, traditional markets, shopping malls, real estate and other sectors, SGS 2022 is targeting 1.3 trillion transactions. SGS 2022 will leverage the optimal use of digital technology for transactions, including the Solo Sales Go 2.0 application, which is nearly ready for launch. SGS 2022 is expected to stimulate economic growth in the Solo Raya region, particularly in terms of accelerating the post-pandemic national economic recovery.
