Strengthening financial literacy is key to ensuring that increasing financial inclusion can provide tangible benefits to public welfare. The results of the National Financial Literacy and Inclusion Survey (SNLIK) in 2025 indicate that financial inclusion in Indonesia has reached 92.74%. This achievement, however, must be balanced with financial literacy, which currently stands at 66.46%. Therefore, Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia launched the Strengthening Financial Literacy and Inclusion for Prosperity (AKSI KLIK) Program and Financial Access through Business Matching and Literacy for Financial Prosperity (AKU BISA SEJAHTERA) Movement. The initiatives were launched by the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo, and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartarto, as Chair of the National Council for Financial Inclusion (DNKI) today at Bank Indonesia in Jakarta (06/03/26). This synergy demonstrates the shared commitment to strengthening public understanding in terms of managing and utilising financial products and services wisely, safely and productively.
Perry Warjiyo explained how Bank Indonesia continues to promote financial inclusion and literacy. Various innovations, such as QRIS, BI-FAST and SNAP, have expanded public and MSME integration into the digital financial ecosystem. Currently, QRIS is widely used by 59.98 million users, of which 50 million are micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Furthermore, Governor Perry emphasised that “Accelerating payment system digitalisation must be balanced by strengthening financial literacy, particularly digital finance. The initiatives launched today mark a joint measure to promote quality and impactful financial inclusion and literacy by strengthening financial resilience and stability, business sustainability and community prosperity."
This synergy is consistent with the direction of the Indonesian President and Government's Asta Cita program, particularly in terms of MSMEs and entrepreneurship, creating quality job opportunities, economic equity and the eradication of poverty, emphasised Coordinating Minister Airlangga. The Government, therefore, continues to foster policy transformation from an approach focused on expanding financial inclusion towards a financial prosperity framework. “The AKSI KLIK Program and AKU BISA SEJAHTERA Movement play a crucial role in strengthening the foundation of financial inclusion policies and public financial prosperity amid faster digital transformation in the financial sector. Therefore, I urge all stakeholders to collaborate to ensure this initiative is implemented consistently and provides tangible benefits to the community," concluded Airlangga.
The AKSI KLIK Program and AKU BISA SEJAHTERA Movement represent a strengthening of the national agenda by building an integrated financial prosperity ecosystem. This is achieved through sustainable economic empowerment synergy, expanding access to productive financing and improving financial literacy end-to-end. The initiative will begin with a financial education/literacy program to develop vulnerable groups, while socialising the green calculator.
Three books were also launched at the event. First, Strategies and Educational Programs in the Digital Financial Literacy Framework towards Financial Prosperity, which reviews a comprehensive approach to massive, targeted and structured financial education towards financial prosperity for all Indonesians. Second, the Basic Digital Financial Education Module Guidebook, which contains public guidance for utilising digital financial services safely, responsibly and sustainably. Third, seeking to strengthen MSMEs as a pillar of the national economy, Sustainable MSME Business Model Implementation Guidelines: Mitigation Actions was also launched as a strategic guide to the structured and measured implementation of sustainable business principles. With the availability of these three books, efforts to strengthen digital financial literacy, build financial management capacity in the community, and develop sustainable MSMEs are expected to expand further, thus creating a tangible impact on improving community prosperity and welfare.
As a form of collaboration between all parties, the event was attended by leaders of the DNKI, government ministries/agencies, finance industry players, academics, industry associations, local governments and MSMEs. To align views on various initiatives to increase financial inclusion and literacy, the event also featured a talk show on national strategies for strengthening financial literacy and inclusion to promote digital literacy, BI policies for sustainable MSME development, and the role of the business community in accelerating the adoption of sustainability principles. Bank Indonesia, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the Indonesian Employers Association (APINDO) provided speakers and resource persons at the event.
Through the AKSI KLIK Program and AKU BISA SEJAHTERA Movement, Bank Indonesia, the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, other relevant authorities and MSMEs are increasingly uniting efforts to strengthen digital financial literacy and promote sustainable MSMEs as part of the national economic transformation. This synergy is key to realising an empowered and prosperous community in the digital economy era.
