The latest Banking Survey conducted by Bank Indonesia indicates positive growth of new loan disbursements in the third quarter of 2025. This was reflected by a Weighted Net Balance (WNB) of 82.33% in the reporting period, retreating from 85.22% in the second quarter of 2025 yet higher than the 80.64% recorded in the third quarter of 2024. Moving forward, respondents predict new loan disbursements to accelerate in the fourth quarter of 2025, with the WNB predicted at 96.40%.
Respondents confirmed more prudent lending standards in the third quarter of 2025 compared with conditions in the second quarter of 2025, as reflected by a positive Lending Standards Index (LSI) for all loan types of 5.78, primarily affecting document requirements, collateral requirements, administration fees, credit lines and loan maturities. In the fourth quarter of 2025, respondents expect looser lending standards, with an LSI of -5.95.
The latest Survey also reveals how respondents remain optimistic on credit growth moving forward until the end of 2025, driven by a promising monetary and economic outlook as well as relatively well contained risk when disbursing loans, among others.
