The latest Business Survey conducted by Bank Indonesia indicates maintained business activity in the third quarter of 2025. This was reflected in the positive performance of all economic sectors, with the Weighted Net Balance (WNB) at 11.55%, similar to the WNB in the previous quarter of 11.70%.
Several sectors showed improvements, primarily Mining and Quarrying, Construction, the Manufacturing Industry, Financial Services, as well as Public Administration, Defence and Compulsory Social Security given increasing business activity, the construction of several projects and government budget realisation in line with quarterly trends.
Production capacity utilisation in the third quarter of 2025 was recorded at a level of 73.84%, increasing from 73.58% in the second quarter of 2025. The increase was supported by most economic sectors, particularly Mining and Quarrying as well as the Manufacturing Industry. Meanwhile, corporate financial conditions generally remained sound in terms of liquidity and profitability, accompanied by looser access to credit.
Respondents predict business activity to maintain positive growth in the fourth quarter of 2025 with a WNB of 10.53%. Respondents also expect most economic sectors to maintain growth, particularly Wholesale and Retail Trade, and Repair of Motor Vehicles and Motorcycles, Transportation and Storage, Accommodation and Food Service Activities, as well as Information and Communication, in response to increasing activity during the Christmas and New Year festive period.
