Siaran Pers
Press Releases

No. 27/173/DKom

Data published by BPS-Statistics Indonesia indicates 5.12% (yoy) growth of the national economy in the second quarter of 2025, accelerating from 4.87% (yoy) in the previous period. Moving forward, Bank Indonesia projects economic growth overall in 2025 within the 4.6-5.4% range.

In terms of spending, second-quarter GDP growth in 2025 was underpinned by domestic economic activity as well as stronger import-export performance. Household consumption grew 4.97% (yoy) in line with a seasonal surge in economic activity and community mobility during the recent series of national religious holidays (HBKN) and school holidays. Investment increased by 6.99% (yoy) on the back of positive capital investment realisation growth. On the other hand, government consumption contracted by 0.33% (yoy) given the normalisation of government spending compared with the same period of 2024, which was boosted by the general election. Consumption by non-profit institutions serving households (NPISH) recorded 7.82% (yoy) growth. Meanwhile, exports expanded by 10.67% (yoy) in response to increasing demand from Indonesia's major trading partners, coupled with an uptick in service exports due to the influx of inbound international travellers. In addition, domestic demand was the primary driver of import growth.

By sector, all economic sectors indicated positive performance in the reporting period. The manufacturing industry, trade sector, as well as information and communication sector, as the main contributors to growth, maintained solid performance as a corollary of increasing domestic and external demand. Spatially, economic growth in the second quarter of 2025 accelerated in all regions compared with conditions in the previous period, led by Java, followed by Sulawesi-Maluku-Papua (Sulampua), Sumatra, Kalimantan and Bali-Nusa Tenggara (Balinusra).
