No. 27/14/DKom
The latest Banking Survey conducted by Bank Indonesia in the fourth quarter of 2024 indicates faster growth of new loan disbursements, as reflected by an increase recorded in the Weighted Net Balance (WNB) to 97.9% from 80.6% in the previous period. Stronger growth of new loan disbursements was driven by investment loans and working capital loans. Moving forward, respondents predict new loan disbursements to remain solid in the first quarter of 2025, with the WNB forecast at 82.3%.
Respondents expect lending standards in the first quarter of 2025 to remain as tight as those in the previous period, as indicated by a positive Lending Standards Index (LSI) of 0.2, with several aspects affected, including the credit lines, lending rates, and premium charges.
The latest Survey also reveals how respondents remain optimistic on credit growth moving forward until the end of 2025, with outstanding loans projected to maintain solid growth momentum. Respondents are upbeat, among others, due to the monetary and economic outlook as well as relatively mitigated credit risk when disbursing loans.
