Metamorphosis of the Bank Indonesia Logo
The logos appearing above, from De Javasche Bank and Bank Indonesia, are logos that have been printed on banknotes issued by DJB and BI during their respective eras. The Bank Indonesia logo has roots in the De Javasche Bank logo and has undergone a long-term metamorphic process. At its inception, the Bank Indonesia logo adapted the logo of De Javasche Bank and changed the letter J to a letter I without altering any other design elements. Over time and in line with the aesthetics and image the central bank was nurturing, the Bank Indonesia logo was modified to become more solid, bold and dignified like that which is in use today.
