  1. In principle during the Covid-19 emergency, all payment system service providers (PJSP) and rupiah currency management services providers (PJPUR) are required to support government policies to break the domestic chain of Covid-19 transmission. All PJSP/PJPUR are performing essential operational tasks to maintain the operational continuity of a secure, seamless, efficient and reliable payment system, while ensuring adequate rupiah currency fit for circulation in the community.
  2. In the implementation of essential operational tasks, the health and humanitarian aspects of all employees must be considered to mitigate the risk of Covid-19 transmission.
  3. BI Official Letters No. 22/3/DpG-DKSP/Srt/B and No.22/5/DpG-DKSP/Srt/B can be applied by banks: (i) to ensure the operationality and mobility of employees assigned to carry out essential tasks, and (ii) as the basis for coordination with authorities mandated to take appropriate measures to contain Covid-19 transmission.
  1. PJSP/PJPUR can issue assignment permits to employees undertaking essential operational tasks. The document can be used for coordination with stakeholders authorised to take appropriate measures to break domestic Covid-19 transmission.
  2. Bank Indonesia has also issued such documents to all local government leaders (governors/regents) as well as regional and departmental police chiefs.

In principle, PJSP/PJPUR as participants of the payment system and BI Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs) are required to support government policies that break the domestic chain of Covid-19 transmission as follows:

  1. Maintain the operational continuity of a secure, seamless, efficient and reliable payment system, while ensuring adequate availability of rupiah fit for circulation in the community.
  2. Pay due consideration to the health and humanitarian aspects of all employees to mitigate the risks.
