The Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) has concluded with a number of impressive milestones. Held from 8-12th October 2025, ISEF 2025 recorded financing and trade business matching alongside sales turnover totalling a value of Rp3.1 trillion, up from Rp2 trillion one year earlier. This achievement further underscores ISEF's role as a collective movement to strengthen an inclusive, sustainable and globally competitive sharia economic ecosystem. Through cross-sector synergy and continuous innovation, let us make Indonesia not only a market but also the centre of gravity for the global sharia economy," stated Bank Indonesia Senior Deputy Governor, Destry Damayanti, in her remarks during the closing ceremony of the 12th Indonesia Sharia Economic Festival (ISEF) 2025 at the Jakarta International Expo (JIEXPO) Convention Centre (12/10/25).

ISEF 2025 was an tremendous success, involving extensive public participation and engagement. This accomplishment clearly demonstrates the increasing confidence and involvement of national and international Islamic economic players in advancing Indonesia's sharia economic ecosystem. ISEF involved the participation of more than 700 sharia businesses, including the halal industry and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Islamic financial institutions, businesses in the creative industry as well as domestic and international investors from various countries. The series of activities consisted of 22 domestic and international forums, 28 exhibitions featuring halal products and business linkages, 30 talk shows and community activities, as well as 20 competitions held in synergy with 34 government ministries/agencies and 30 international partners. This year, ISEF also attracted 89,000 visitors in-person and online. Concluding her remarks, Destry Damayanti urged all stakeholders to uphold the budding spirit of synergy because the successful ISEF event did not mark the end but merely the beginning of a long journey towards a solid, competitive and equitable sharia economy in Indonesia.

Entitled Sharia Economic and Financial Synergy Strengthening Inclusive Economic Growth and Independence, ISEF 2025 featured more than 16 main activities across four major clusters. First, the Halal Industry & Sharia Business Forum that facilitated business matching, trade and the investment forum, as well as the Halal Expo which brought together halal businesses with global partners. Second, the Sharia Finance & Investment Forum, which discussed strengthening Islamic financial markets, green sukuk and Islamic social finance. Third, the Sharia Social and Education Movement, which included sharia economic literacy and education, academic forums and innovative competitions for the younger generation, such as the Youth Sharia Entrepreneurship Forum and Shariapreneur Innovation Challenge. And fourth, the Art, Culture, and Halal Lifestyle Exhibition, showcasing modest Muslim fashion, halal cuisine and creative products based on sharia values.

The winners of several major competitions were also announced at the closing ceremony of ISEF 2025, including the International Halal Chef Competition (IN2HCC), National Sharia Economic Olympiad (OESN), and ISEF Award 2025. The ISEF Award was presented to institutions and individuals with significant contributions to the development of the national sharia economy and finance.

ISEF 2025 was hosted by Bank Indonesia in collaboration with the National Islamic Economy and Finance Committee (KNEKS), and supported by various government ministries/agencies, halal industry associations, sharia financial institutions, universities, creative communities and international partners. Moving forward, Bank Indonesia will continue developing ISEF into a collaborative global platform for the sharia economy with a focus on digitalisation, innovative financing and strengthening the national halal value chain.
