According to the latest Consumer Survey conducted by Bank Indonesia in April 2023, consumer confidence in economic conditions increased compared to conditions one month earlier. This was confirmed by an upward Consumer Confidence Index (CCI), reaching 126.1 in April 2023 from 123.3 in March 2023.
Stronger consumer confidence in April 2023 was driven by respective gains recorded in the Current Economic Condition Index (CECI) and Consumer Expectation Index (CEI). The CECI experienced broad-based growth across all components, particularly the Job Availability Index and Current Income Index, while the CEI primarily recorded increases in the Job Availability Expectation Index.
