​Overview

Work experience and internships are practical on-the-job experiences and skills for students facilitated by Bank Indonesia. ​Provide self-development opportunities for students to learn through direct experience gained in the execution of duties at Bank Indonesia.

​General Academic Requirements

  1. Educational Background:
    • Internship: D3/D4/S1/S2
    • Work Experience: Vocational high school (SMK)
  2. Educational Level:
    • Internship: minimum of 6 semesters
    • Work Experience: minimum class XI
  3. Fields of Study:
    • Internship: Economics (Management, Accounting, Economics, Finance); Mathematics; Statistics; Industrial Techniques; Informatic Techniques; Computer Science; Information Systems; Law; Business/Commerce Administration; Psychology
    • Work Experience: All vocational high school subjects
  4. Special skills:
    • Internship: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); graphic design; programming.
    • Work Experience: Computer networks; multimedia; file administration; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

Duration of Internship/Work Experience

  1. Interns are required to state the duration of the internship/work experience applied for;
  2. Internship/work experience has a minimum duration of 1 month and maximum of 2 months;
  3. The internship/work experience period can be extended for a maximum of 1 month in accordance with the requirements of Bank Indonesia.

Scope of Internship/Work Experience

  1. Interns will be assigned to tasks that develop core competencies in terms of analysis capacity, practical experience, project management and teamwork.
  2. Work experience students will be assigned to administrative tasks and record management.
  3. Internship approval is based on fulfilling the administrative requirements, field of study and capacity in each respective work unit.

  2. Market (foreign exchange management and monetary management);
  3. Financial system stability;
  4. Payment system and rupiah currency management
  5. Enabler (legal, human resources, finance, logistics, information systems)

​Administrative Requirements for Internship/Work Experience Applicants

  1. Cover letter from university/school:
    • Student data/profile (full name, student ID number, faculty/program, degree/subjects, semester/class);
    • Internship/work experience duration and period;
    • Photocopy of latest school/university report.
  2. Individual applications:
    • Curriculum vitae
    • Motivation letter (explaining the goals and objectives of the internship/work experience, expectations and target achievements);
    • Proposed field of study (explaining the applicant’s passion or interest in a particular field of study: monetary and macroprudential policy, payment system, rupiah currency management, internal management);

    • Photocopy of KTP;
    • Photocopy of NPWP;
    • Photocopy of bank book (for intern students)
  3. Fields of Study:

Rights

  1. Receive an acceptance/approval notification;
  2. If the number of applicants exceeds the quota, rejected applicants will receive priority in the subsequent internship period;
  3. Receive clarification concerning the role and tasks of Bank Indonesia, as well as the scope of duties of the relevant work unit;
  4. Receive mentorship and guidance concerning practical work implementation;
  5. Receive a transportation allowance of Rp35,000 per day for up to a maximum of 20 days, as a cashless payment; and
  6. Receive an intern/work experience certificate upon completion of all responsibilities.

Responsibilities

  1. Sign a non-disclosure agreement to maintain Bank Indonesia information confidentiality;
  2. Adhere to Bank Indonesia’s disciplinary standards and code of ethics;
  3. Wear suitable professional attire, including shoes;
  4. Batik clothing may be worn on Tuesdays and Fridays;
  5. Participate in internship activities from 07:15-16:15;
  6. Complete the logbook, write an internship report based on discussions with mentor; and
  7. Make a 3-minute group or individual video testimonial for the internship program.

Others

Bank Indonesia does not charge any fees for implementation of the internship/work experience program. Remain vigilant of fraud.
