
According to Article 58 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 23 of 1999, as last amended by Law Number 4 of 2023 Financial Sector Development and Strengthening (UU P2SK), Bank Indonesia is required to prepare and announce the annual financial report of Bank Indonesia to the public through mass media. The Annual Financial Report of Bank Indonesia includes, among others, the statement of financial position, statement of surplus/deficit, notes to the financial statements, and related additional information. The report also presents management statements and the audit results of the Financial Audit Agency of the Republic of Indonesia on the financial statements of Bank Indonesia.
The purpose of Bank Indonesia is to achieve and maintain the stability of the rupiah value in accordance with the mandate of the legislation. The achievement of this objective by Bank Indonesia cannot be measured in currency units. Therefore, the financial report of Bank Indonesia cannot be directly used to measure the achievement of Bank Indonesia's objectives. Nevertheless, the financial impact of most efforts or activities by Bank Indonesia in achieving its goals can be measured in currency units, allowing the financial report of Bank Indonesia to be used to measure the financial impact of Bank Indonesia's goal achievement efforts. To enhance users' understanding of Bank Indonesia's financial information, users need to consider non-financial information that provides context and meaning to the presented financial information.
