Born in Surabaya in 1967, Solikin M. Juhro completed his undergraduate education in Economics and Development Studies at Airlangga University in 1991. He obtained a Master of Applied Economics from the University of Michigan, USA, in 1998 and a Master of Arts in Economics, specialising in Macroeconomics, from the University of Maryland, USA, in 2001. Solikin subsequently earned a Doctorate in Economics from the University of Indonesia in 2005, specialising in Monetary Economics and Macroeconomics.

Prior to his appointment as Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia, Solikin served as Assistant Governor and Head of the Macroprudential Policy Department from 2023-2026, responsible for financial system stability and the digital transformation of Bank Indonesia policy mix formulation, subsequent to his appointment as Executive Director of the Economic and Monetary Policy Department from 2022-2023 and Head of the Bank Indonesia Institute from 2016-2021.

Beyond his career at Bank Indonesia, Solikin is actively involved in professional activities and the advancement of economic policy thought. He has lectured and mentored students in various postgraduate programs and has published numerous academic works internationally in the form of journal articles and books in the areas of central bank policy, macroeconomic and financial system stability, economic transformation and economic sustainability.

In accordance with Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia No. 92/P of 2026, dated 1st September 2026, Solikin M. Juhro was officially appointed Deputy Governor of Bank Indonesia and took the oath of office on 2nd September 2026, with a term of office through to 2031.
