I Gusti Ngurah Rai, a National Hero

I Gusti Ngurah Rai is a Balinese hero who was famous with the “Puputan Margarana” war. He fought hard for Bali to become a part of Indonesia. I Gusti Ngurah Rai died during the battle along with 95 of his troops, while 400 Dutch soldiers were killed.
For his services, I Gusti Ngurah Rai was awarded a title as National Hero and his name is commemorated as the name of the international airport in Bali.

An image of Beratan Lake in Bedugul, Bali. This lake is one of the most beautiful lake in the world. At the edge of the lake is Ulun Danu Temple, a famous holy temple of Hindus on the island of Bali. Built in 1633, this temple is used for offerings ceremony to Dewi Danu, Balinese water, lake and river goddess. When the water of the lake rises, the Ulun Danu Temple will look like floating.
