Following the resignation of Perry Warjiyo from the position as Governor of Bank Indonesia, submitted voluntarily under personal reason on 25 July 2026, in accordance with Article 48 paragraph (1) letter (a) of Law No. 23 of 1999 concerning Bank Indonesia, as lastly amended by Law No. 4 of 2026 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector ("the Bank Indonesia Law"), the Board of Governors' meeting held on 26 July 2026, has appointed Senior Deputy Governor Destry Damayanti as Acting Governor, pursuant to Article 50 paragraph (2) of the Bank Indonesia Law.
Bank Indonesia remains committed to ensuring the continuity of its duties and authorities in achieving rupiah stability, maintaining the payment system stability, and safeguarding the financial system stability, in order to foster sustainable economic growth and create an economic environment conducive to real sector growth and job creation, in accordance with the mandate of the Bank Indonesia Law. In carrying out these duties and authorities, Bank Indonesia continues to prioritize sound and professional institutional governance, and will maintain synergy and coordination with the Government, while respecting the respective duties and mandates of each institution.
