The Prompt Manufacturing Index (PMI) - BI remained in expansionary phase in the fourth quarter of 2019 despite decelerated from previous period. Such conditions are reflected by The Prompt Manufacturing Index (PMI) – BI 51,50% decreasing from 52,04% in the third quarter of 2019. Nearly all subsectors maintained an expansive posture, with the highest expansion in Cement and Non-Metallic Minerals Industry supported by expansion in the volume of production and delivery of input goods.

In the first quarter of 2020, respondents predicted business expansion to accelerate, confirmed by an increase in the PMI to 52,73%. Furthermore, the respondents expected faster business growth across most economic subsectors, led by the Cement and Non-Metallic Minerals Industry, followed by Timber and Other Forest Product Industry, and Food, Beverage and Tobacco industry.
