Performance of Rupiah Stability Indicators (31st May 2023)

Based on the latest global and domestic economic conditions, Bank Indonesia publishes rupiah stability indicators as follows:

Exchange Rate Developments 29th-31st May 2023

End of Tuesday, 30th May 2023

  1. The rupiah closed at a (bid) level of Rp14,980 per US dollar.
  2. Benchmark 10-year SBN yield was stable at 6.38%.
  3. DXY[1] strengthened to a level of 104.45.
  4. 10-year US Treasury (UST) Note[2] yield decreased to a level of 3.735%.

Wednesday Morning, 31st May 2023

  1. The rupiah opened at a (bid) level of Rp14,980 per US dollar.
  2. Benchmark 10-year SBN yield decreased to 6.37%.

Foreign Capital Flows (Fifth Week of May 2023)

  1. Indonesia 5-year credit default swap (CDS) premium decreased to 84.00bps on 30th May 2023 from 88.34bps on 26th May 2023.
  2. Based on transaction data from 29-30th May 2023, non-resident investors booked a net sell totalling Rp1.74 trillion in the domestic financial markets, comprising a net sell in the SBN market of Rp2.21 trillion and a net buy in the stock market of Rp0.47 trillion.
  3. In 2023, based on settlement data as of 30th May 2023, non-resident investors have booked a net buy of Rp67.79 trillion in the SBN market and a net buy of Rp16.29 trillion in the stock market.

 

Bank Indonesia continues strengthening coordination with the Government and other relevant authorities as well as optimising the policy mix strategy to maintain macroeconomic and financial system stability to support ongoing economic recovery momentum.
