EMEAP, the Executive’s Meeting of East Asia-Pacific Central Banks, is a forum for central banks in the East Asia and Pacific region, working to strengthen the cooperative relationship among its members. EMEAP was established in 1991, comprises the central banks and monetary authorities of eleven economies: Reserve Bank of Australia, People’s Bank of China, Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Bank Indonesia, Bank of Japan, The Bank of Korea, Bank Negara Malaysia, Reserve Bank of New Zealand, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, Monetary Authority of Singapore and Bank of Thailand.

Since its establishment, EMEAP activities have evolved gradually but steadily. It is now a three-tiered forum, comprising Governors’, Deputies’ and Working Group Meetings. At the seventh Governors’ Meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Governors endorsed the Deputie’ proposal to establish the IT Directors’ Meeting. In 2001, the EMEAP IT Directors’ Meeting was established and the Directors meet every year to study Information Technology related matters and its application to member central banks.

Reviewing past event, the 15th EMEAP IT Directors’ Meeting was held on October 4th-7th 2016 in South Korea, gathered recent development and system resiliency informations from member countries. At that meeting, Bank of Canada was invited as keynote speaker and explained about cyber security resilience and system resiliency maturity.

As the host of 16th EMEAP IT Directors’ Meeting, Bank Indonesia cordially invite all members on September 12th-14th 2017 to Bali Island, the natural beauty and cultural landscape with the shining white sand in southeastern coast view. The meeting will discuss recent development in each members, highlighting the readiness in facing cyber threat towards the central banks. Furthermore, members also will share about implementation of IT Service Management such as finding solution to maintain complex or heterogeneous system, facing the opportunities and challenges, defining the Service Level Agreement (SLA) and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) or other related matters.

Hopefully, the participation in 16th EMEAP IT Directors’ Meeting will be a wonderful and unforgettable experience, and all members can reap full benefits through spirited discussions.
