Palu Bank Tunggal
On 11th April 1965, in front of the third MPRS session in 1966, President Soekarno detailed a plan to shift the banking structure in Indonesia towards a Unitary Bank. According to such a system at that time, state-owned banks, including Bank Indonesia, were merged with the expectation that government monetary and banking policy could be implemented effectively and efficiently, led by successful government programs of struggle. After promulgation of the Central Bank Act (No. 13 of 1968), Bank Indonesia became the de jure central bank of the Republic of Indonesia under its original name.
