XXIV ICOMON 2017 Conference Agenda
XXIV ICOMON 2017 Conference will take place at Museum Bank Indonesia from 3 to 6 September 2017 at the magnificent heritage building which was in the old days used as the office of De Javasche Bank. The building is well preserved and currently used as Museum Bank Indonesia.
The conference programme is comprehensively set up by combining a session of call for papers, and an art and cultural tour to some of heritage sites in Jakarta and Bandung. The call for papers session is a forum for participants to share knowledge, and current issues as well as solving the problems encountered by participants. Prior to the conference, the participants will watch batik making demonstration at the workshop, and practice how to make batik. There is also traditional batik collections exhibition. Batik workshop and exhibition will take place at the innercourt of the Museum. Futhermore, The participants will also be invited to taste the local traditional culinary at the welcome dinner while watching traditional dance performances.
During the break session, the participants will be taken to the Museum Tour, and to visit some historical places such as : Jakarta Old Town which was previously as the place where the initial civilisation of Batavia (the ancient name of Jakarta) began, and to Museum Taman Mini, a miniature park of the Indonesian culture representing the whole Indonesian provinces with its tipycal traditions. The participants will also be invited to take a full-day tour to Bandung to visit Geology Museum, and Asian and African Museum, as well as Saung Angklung Mang Udjo, an art centre of bamboo musical instrument.
Lastly, is the art and cultural tour to Jogyakarta or Bali, an optional tour arranged for the participants who are interested in exploring the other parts or Indonesia.
The costs incurred for this travel shall be borne by participants.
